In order to increase the size of SwedishAmerican Hospital?s OB Department, complete renovation of the 8th floor was undertaken.? The resulting Mother/Baby Unit consists of twenty-five ?rooming in? patient rooms that are designated to host the department?s postpartum patients. The clean, modern design of the unit is family-friendly, using warm colors and wood tones throughout. The nurses station and well-baby nursery were placed in a central location to tp create efficiencies by reducing travel distances for patients and staff.? A greeter desk is located at the unit?s entry to ensure the safety of patients and staff while maintaining an inviting entry point to the floor.
