Sited to take advantage of stunning Mississippi River views, Ascentra Credit Union’s four-story headquarters had a dramatic response in the community with the Quad Cities Times calling it “…a hallmark for Bettendorf, its downtown, and the Quad-Cities.” Ascentra’s VP of Business Development, Alvaro Macias said, “It’s like a living work of art for us.” And Mayor Robert Gallagher called the facility the “cornerstone on the western edge of town that would spur development.”

Conceived to replace Ascentra’s aging 30-year-old headquarters, this facility creates a space that brings together support staff from ten branches. Hired for their deep knowledge of retail bank design, PG Design + Build’s primary role was the design of the retail banking spaces on the first level. The bank lobby features a modern design, a set of adjacent offices for private client meetings, two drive-up lanes, and an ATM.

The second and third floors host open office spaces to support lending and mortgage departments, and the top floor offers a number of executive suites. Most common areas, including conference rooms, roof deck, breakroom, and fitness center enjoy bright spaces with natural light and river views.

Eager to support all members, visitors, and staff, the facility also includes a “Zen Room” to support nursing mothers.

To enhance connections in the community, the first floor also features the Lensmeyer Learning Center which is available as meeting space to bring in, and partner with, local organizations.

This project was completed in partnership with Legat Architects.
